I've been extremely lucky in my career thus far. I am so grateful for that.
I graduated from Cornell University in 2011 with a major in Film and immediately moved to LA because I was tired of the upstate New York winters.
My first job was at Thinkwell Group, a themed entertainment studio, where I was hired to work on the video media for the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London: The Making of Harry Potter.
In 2013, I had the good fortune of getting in on the ground floor as a Video Intern at BuzzFeed right as its video department was starting up. I moved quickly from an intern to a producer. I was there for BuzzFeed's golden age; it was lightning in a bottle. I produced, directed, and edited literally hundreds of videos for every social media platform. I became a manager of a small team, then a big team, and before I knew it, I was an Executive Producer running a department of 45 full-time producers.
During my time at BuzzFeed, I was selected for an elite team of producers to go onsite to the Olympics, where we were tasked with creating first-of-its-kind social content for the NBC Olympics Snapchat Discover. That is still by far one of my favorite projects I've ever done.
In 2019, I was coaxed away from BuzzFeed to Disney, where I worked on the content marketing for the launch of Disney+. I oversaw the development and execution of video and media content for a slew of Disney social accounts, including Disney+.
Currently, I am a producer on the animal facts series, True Facts, and I absolutely love it. I get to read scientific papers, talk to scientists, and craft fantastically funny stories about animals all day long. I also get to film animals - like elephants in South Africa and Thailand. And I get to film scientific researchers in places like the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and the Senckenberg Research Institute. I also produce, direct, and edit social content for the interior design studio, Swike, among other freelance and consulting opportunities.
